The incident occurred at the corner of Isipingo Road and South Street on July 15.
“Officers received information and when they arrived they noticed a man carrying two laptops. When he was asked for the receipts, he gave them two receipts,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.
The officers noticed something suspicious and went to the shop from where the man claimed to have bought the laptops. When they arrived at the shop, the staff denied any knowledge of the slips and said that they were not selling new laptops at the shop. The man was arrested and is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
