The incident occurred at the corner of Bezuidenhout and Paddock Streets, in Yeoville, on September 16.
“The police received a complaint and on arrival, they found a young girl who led them to a room where there was the body of an 11-year-old boy lying inside a bath,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.
The officers found the suspect inside another room with a hammer and knife.
It is suspected the brother used a hammer and a knife to kill his younger brother. The suspect was taken into custody. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
“The suspect is expected to appear in at the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Constable Malatji.
