A Yeoville man was arrested for robbery.
The incident occurred at the corner of Hunter and Kenmere streets in Yeoville.
“The suspects approached the victim and his wife when they were walking along the street. The suspects hit the victim on the head with an object, took his cellular phone and fled,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.
As they were fleeing the scene, the victim spotted a police vehicle and alerted the officers.
“The officers gave chase and managed to arrest one of the suspects and recovered the victim’s cellular phone,” said Const Malatji. The suspect is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
