A 39-year-old man was arrested in Yeoville for being in possession of a fraudulent passport.
The incident occurred at the corner of Rocky and Raymond streets on November 29.
“Police officers were on routine patrol when they came across three men. The officers searched the men and found one man with a passport and two different permits affixed inside. The man could not provide any explanation,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.
The officers took the suspect with his passport to the Department of Home Affairs.
“It was confirmed that the documents were fraudulent,” said Const Malatji.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate’s Court soon.
