EDITOR – While I appreciate that Dunvegan Avenue has been re-tarred, I am shocked to see the speeds the cars now travel down this two-lane road where the speed bumps have been removed.
They treat this like a highway, going at speeds exceeding 100 km/h.
This is ridiculous.
This suburb has children and adults cycling and playing, and it will soon be time that someone loses their life.
Does it have to be at the cost of a life before the municipality replaces the speed bumps that were taken away?
I beg and plead that the bumps are returned to the road in order to ensure safety.
If one looks back in history, the first reason the bumps were installed was due to a child losing their life.
Please don’t let history repeat itself.
CONCERNED RESIDENT,
DUNVEGAN.
