A man was arrested for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm at the corner of Raymond and Hopkins streets in Yeoville.
“Officers were on a routine patrol when they spotted a suspicious looking man and proceeded to search him. They found a firearm hidden on his waist. The officers asked for a firearm license and the suspect failed to produce it,” said Constable Thabo Malatji of the Yeoville SAPS.
He added that the firearm had its serial number filled off.
“He was arrested and detained at the Yeoville SAPS. He is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon,” said Const Malatji.
