A 27-year-old man was arrested for the murder of his girlfriend in Yeoville.
The incident occurred at the corner of Becker and Cavendish streets on Tuesday, July 22.
“It is alleged that the suspect and the victim had an argument at their place of residence. It is believed the suspect stabbed the victim on the upper body,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS. According to Const Malatji, the police were called to the scene and found the woman lying in a pool of blood.

“She was certified dead at the scene. The suspect was arrested a few blocks away from the scene, attempting to flee,” said Const Malatji.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of murder. @JoburgJourno
