A 19-year-old man was arrested for murder in Yeoville.
The incident took place at the corner of De La Rey and Francis streets on Sunday, July 20.
“The victim was walking on the street when three men approached him and began to rob him. A struggle ensued and one of the robbers took out a knife and stabbed the victim three times in the upper body,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.
The police were called to the scene and one suspect, in possession of a knife, was apprehended while attempting to flee.
“The other two suspects managed to flee but more arrests are expected soon,” said Const Malatji.
He said the suspect is expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of murder. @JoburgJourno
