Toy-gun robber (26) arrested in Yeoville

According to Const Malatji, the woman reported the incident to the police and officers proceeded to the scene of the crime.

A 26-year-old man was arrested for robbery, using a toy-gun.

The incident occurred at the corner of Webb and Joe Slovo streets on Sunday, July 20.

“The suspect approached a woman who was on her way to work. He pointed a firearm at her and robbed her of her belongings,” said Constable Thabo Malatji, of the Yeoville SAPS.

According to Const Malatji, the woman reported the incident to the police and officers proceeded to the scene of the crime.

“They found the suspect trying to rob another woman near the same corner. The officers managed to arrest the suspect and recover the victim’s belongings. A toy gun was also recovered from the suspect,” said Const Malatji. He said the man was expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court soon, facing charges of robbery. @JoburgJourno
