BREAKING NEWS: Three caught at Edenvale filling station with weapons

Officers requested to search the vehicle and found a toy gun, a knife, implements used in house burglaries and balaclavas.

Three men were taken into police custody this morning after they were found in possession of dangerous weapons at a filling station in Highway Gardens.

Members of the Edenvale SAPS Crime Prevention Unit spotted a suspicious vehicle with three occupants at a service station at around 11.30am.

Officers requested to search the vehicle and found a toy gun, a knife, implements used in house burglaries and balaclavas.

The three men were placed under arrest and taken to the Edenvale Police Station.

According to acting spokesperson for the Edenvale SAPS, Lieutenant Colonel Robbie Roberts all three men will be charged under the Firearms Act.

Attendants at the filling station reported that the men had entered the store twice before they were arrested.

“They would walk in, browse through the store and leave without buying anything,” one attendant said.

“It just did not feel right,” he added.
