The Jeppe SAPS arrested a 26 year-old-man for an attempted murder, which took place on November 2 at about 7pm.
Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi, from the Jeppe SAPS, said they received information about a shooting along Main Reef Road in Benrose.
On arrival, officers found two people who had been shot. The man and woman where transported to hospital. Nine cartridges were found at the scene.
Further investigations revealed that the man, from Melville, and the woman, from the George Goch Informal Settlement, were shot by the suspect, who used a 9mm pistol.
The suspect was later arrested and charged with attempted murder. He was detained at the Jeppe Police Station.
The suspect is expected to appear in court soon.
Police investigations are continuing.
