Armistice Day marks the end of World War I, on the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, 1918.
Mr Robert Faltermeir, the head of the Duiker House Civil Technology and History Department at Jeppe High, said Armistice Day is commemorated every year on November 11 to mark the end of World War I.
He said the school commemorates this day every year to honour the Jeppe Old Boys and teachers who died in the war.
“This day is not just about those who died in World War I, we have now included those who died in World War II and those who died fighting for freedom. It is important for people to know how freedom was obtained, because these people paid the ultimate price. It is important to remember and honour them,” he said.
