Police seek robbery suspect

The Jeppe SAPS has opened a case of theft and is looking for this man who allegedly stole money from a 39-year-old woman.

On November 26, 2014, the victim arrived in Pretoria, after travelling from Zimbabwe to buy car parts.

She met with the suspect who is also from Zimbabwe.

The suspect had hired a car to help drive her around. Together, they bought some goods in Pretoria and drove to Johannesburg.

They went to a Mercedes Benz dealership in Droster Park to buy more parts.

The victim exited the car at the Mercedes Benz dealership and went inside.

According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyayi, from the Jeppe SAPS, the woman allegedly left her luggage, the parts purchased and a bag with R110 000 in the car.

While the victim was inside the building, the suspect drove off. The suspect apparently informed a security guard that he would return to fetch the victim.

The victim waited and tried to phone the suspect, but his phone was off.

W/O Munyayi said the victim contacted the SAPS after waiting for four hours.

A case of theft was opened at the Jeppe SAPS and police officers are now looking for the 28-year-old suspect.

Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts can contact the investigating officer, Constable Ismael Ngcoza, on 073 815 8663 or 011 624-6037.
