The Jeppe SAPS arrested one suspect for breaking into a business and theft.
On March 18, police officers were patrolling Jeppestown and monitoring the situation after recent community protests against evictions.
According to Warrant Officer Richard Munyai, the patrolling officers came across a group of men who were breaking into a shop at the corner of Jane and Jules streets.
When the men saw the police officers, they fled the scene. One suspect was still inside the store and he was arrested.
The 22-year-old suspect was detained at the police station and will appear in court soon.
Police investigations are continuing.
