Criminals struck at the Animal Anti-Cruelty League’s (AACL) property in Johannesburg last night.

The thieves gained entry into the organisation’s offices using a crowbar.

Computers, a cash box and audio equipment was stolen.

The estimated amount the criminals made off with, along with the damaged done to the property, is believed to be around R30 000.

Mr Tony Guia, the chairman of the AACL said, “Criminals do not seem to discriminate when it comes to charity organisations.”

“Along with the heartbreak of losing funds,  I feel the very animals we strive to protect will become the real victims of crime.”
