Andre van der Haar and his fiancé Priscilla Verbooy will celebrate the New Year at Times Square in New York.
Greenstone Hill resident Mr Andre van der Haar and his fiancé Ms Priscilla Verbooy will celebrate the New Year at Times Square in New York.
This is after Andre won the 94.7 and BMW 1 Series’ 1 Moment on Thursday, July 2.
This was announced during the 94.7 afternoon drive show.
The show presenter, Anele Mdoda, said in June that listeners had to log on to the station’s website and say how they would they live their One Moment with R100 000.
The competition was sponsored by BMW.
In his tweet entry, Andre wrote, “This is my #BMW1 Series 1Moment. To be in Time Square with my fiancé when the ball drops on New Years! #NYE #TimesSquare.”
When Anele called him and put him on air he said, “Ever since I met my fiancé, I have wanted to take her to Time Square. I am speechless.”
The station manager, Ravi Naidoo, said Andre’s entry was spot on.
“We are delighted that we could be part of making Andre’s wish come true. He was chosen because his wish so perfectly sums up the 1Moment. A single moment in time that you will remember forever,” he said.
The brand manager of BMW Marketing Services BMW Group, Mr Guy Kilfoil, said the competition was in-line with their car.
“We wanted to create a campaign that truly reflected the essence of the BMW 1 Series, which is spontaneity and dynamism. The 1Moment campaign allowed us to bring these aspects of the car to life in a very unique and personal way,” he said.
