Toastmasters inducts new committee
During the Impromptu speaking session, the speakers had to quickly think on their feet, as the various speakers pretended to be aliens, visiting earth.
Village Toastmasters recently held its June meeting with the theme ‘Third Rock from the Sun’.
One of the newer members, Ms Natalie Visser, started her Toastmasters journey, presenting her first speech, while Mr Mauna Mahlare presented his last speech from the Competent Communicator manual.
During the Impromptu speaking session, the speakers had to think quickly on their feet, as the various speakers pretended to be aliens, visiting earth.
The impromptu speakers did not disappoint and had everyone laughing.
Variety was definitely the flavour of the evening.
The new committee for 2015/16 was inducted during the meeting.
Mr Kevin Mann walked away as the best Impromptu speaker for the evening, followed by Mr Mauna Mahlare, winning the best Prepared Speaker for the evening. Mr Christo Botes won the best Evaluator.
Village Toastmasters meets the third Tuesday of every month at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, situated at the corner of St David and Koster roads in Elma Park.
