Eastleigh sensei reaches 8th Dan

Sensei San Pillay, from the Eastleigh Shotokan Karate Academy, recently attended the week-long 49th Karate Camp hosted by the International Shotokan Karate Federation in Camp Green Lane, Pennsylvania, USA.

At the camp, he trained with Shotokan masters such as Shihan Teruyuki Okazaki and Shunsuke Takahashi Sensei.

Sensei Pillay also recently took the grading examination for his 8th Dan, under the guidance of the ISKF Shihankai and passed his grading, together with four other members from around the world.

“I am delighted with my results. Hard work over the past 46 years has paid off,” said Sensei Pillay.
