Suspect arrested for public stabbing

A man was arrested for attempted murder after he stubbed another man at the corner of Kenmere and Raleigh street in Yeoville.

The Yeoville SAPS communications officer, Constable Thabo Malatji, said on Sunday, October 4, police officers noticed a group of people standing next to the intersection.

“When the officers drew closer, they saw a man lying in a pool of blood, while another man was holding a knife in his hand. When he saw the police, the man with the knife tried to run away but was apprehended. He was charged with attempted murder,” said Const Malatji.

The victim was rushed to hospital in a serious condition.
