They knitted 140 Teddy bears for Max Green of the Beit Emanuel Synagogue in Johannesburg, to hand out to hospitalised children over Easter.
This is the second time Thembalami has been involved in making teddies for this worthwhile project.
“Max could not keep up with the amount of wool and stuffing the gogos needed,” said Thembalami’s Elize Raath.
“They really enjoyed doing this and they want to use the same pattern to knit teddy bears for a nursery school in Alex.
“Max was overwhelmed by their response and motivation.”
