Edenvale radio station finds a new home

While walking through Edenvale’s CBD you might have noticed that Eden Radio has moved out of town.

The radio station recently found a new home at Park Meadows Shopping Centre.

On March 2 the station officially announced its move to Park Meadows.

Roarke Lessing, the founder of the community radio station, said the move was prompted by the station’s need to grow.

“From a very young age I wanted to be part of a voice which shares helpful and positive news,” said Roarke.

“Eden Radio is that voice for the community.”

Roarke said Eden Radio will grow at Park Meadows.

He said the station needed a space to be appreciated and “grow according to its trajectory.”

“We are like a rocket and will only go up.”

Roarke said he feels at home at Park Meadows.

“The management team and neighbouring tenants at the centre are amazing,” he said.

To complement the move, Eden Radio will be hosting a new radio segment called Fighting Addiction.

The show will focus on helping those with addictions and provide tips to the community.

The radio station will continue to have its local business upliftment shows.

Roarke said the shows will focus on empowering young businesses as well as struggling businesses.

Park Meadows Shopping Centre’s marketing manager Leo van Straten said he is looking forward to Eden Radio being at the centre.

“Park Meadows and Eden Radio both help the community,” said Leo.

“We look forward to a positive and long-lasting relationship.”
