Community commemorates fallen heroes – VIDEO
The Fête and Parade coincided with The Battle of Sidi Rezegh 77th Commemorative Service.
The MOTH Ex-Servicemen’s Cottage Association, MOTH Dickie Fritz Shell Hole and Dickie Fritz in Edenvale hosted a Fête and Parade on November 3.
The South African War Graves Association assisted with the military market.

The Fête and Parade coincided with The Battle of Sidi Rezegh 77th Commemorative Service.
The service was conducted by MOTH Gus Mason who gave history on the battle of Sidi Rezegh and also did the benediction, while MOTH Leon Apicella did the MOTH Salute and Ritual.

The service included a helicopter fly-over by pilot Rob Osner and co-pilot Charles Fuller.
There was a wreath-laying ceremony for the fallen with the use of Poppy Symbolism, where each petal and colour represents something.

Alexia Boden sang the national anthem and the South African Irish Regimental Band led the remembrance parade.
The parade also included MOTHWA, Rhodesian Forces, Silent Soldiers, Cadets and the South African Legion.

The day also had a flea market with stalls and a militaria market with military vintage vehicles and classic cars on display.
