Roaring Edenvale Lions ready to help
“The club is made of a group of fabulous people who enjoy helping others.”
Edenvale Lions Club is set to make a difference in the community and assist where they can.
Consisting of 10 members the club often collects donations and distribute it to those in need.
“The club is made up of a group of fabulous people who enjoy helping others,” said club member Margie Kienast.
Like every club worldwide the Edenvale club conducts five main projects each year. These initiatives include raising funds to assist the blind, people with diabetes and those with paediatric cancer to name a few.
Margie said in addition to the large projects the club assists the community throughout the year.
She said the lions collect the contents for and distribute food parcels to approximately 30 families each month.
Over Easter and Christmas, its members pay special visits to residents of Little Eden, old age homes and patients at Edenvale Hospital and Sizwe Tropical Disease Hospital.
For more information visit the about section of the club’s Facebook page, Lions Club of Edenvale, South Africa.
Members of the club meet on the first Monday of each month at 7.30 pm at 152 Fifth Street.
