The suspect was arrested on June 7 at 09:45 near the Heidelberg off-ramp heading in the direction of Durban.

Communications officer for the unit, Sergeant Ntombikayise Ngcobo, said members Sergeant Johny Moloto and Sergeant Willy Lebina spotted a Grey Toyota Etios with three occupants inside.

Ngcobo said immediately after passing the Grey Avenue off-ramp police signalled the driver to stop, which he did just next to the Heidelberg off-ramp.

Police requested to search the motor vehicle and the three occupants.

“Police found one 9mm pistol and 16 rounds of ammunition.”

Ngcobo said it is alleged that the grey Etios is used as an Uber.

She said the arrested suspect requested the Uber to Tokoza.
