Police foil attempted robbery in Bedfordview – suspects busted
Seven suspects were successfully apprehended and are detained at Bedfordview SAPS pending further investigation.
The Bedfordview SAPS arrested seven suspects in connection with a business robbery in Bedfordview on 6 April.
The incident occurred at about 10:00.
The station’s communications liaison officer, Sergeant Lillian Modiga, said that according to reports, a security guard performing his routine duties observed a white Mercedes-Benz with an unknown registration plate entering the premises.
An unidentified African male approached the guard requesting assistance with a forklift.

The guard was then forced into the office, threatened at gunpoint, and instructed to cooperate.
Two additional male suspects restrained his hands using cable ties and proceeded to the storage area.
“Shortly thereafter, the guard heard gunshots outside and observed the premises being surrounded by SAPS members, private security companies, and the CPF as backup.
“Seven suspects were successfully apprehended and were detained at Bedfordview SAPS pending investigation.
“They are expected to appear in court soon,” said Modiga.
