Divers from the SAPS Gauteng Water Policing and Diving Services were deployed to three separate incidents in Gauteng between December 8 and 14, which resulted in the recovery of three bodies.

On December 9, Sedibeng members attended a scene in the Vaal River where they recovered a body that was handed to Viljoensdrift SAPS detectives.

Simultaneously, Tshwane members responded to a scene in Hammanskraal for the second week in a row, recovering the body of an unknown male in a bad stage of decomposition under debris in the Apies River at Bedrock Valley.

On Sunday morning, Johannesburg members were deployed to Fleurhof Dam in Florida where they recovered a body next to the dam wall at the Eastern shore.

Inquest dockets for these cases are under investigation.
