Not action to resolve sewage leaks at Senderwood Shopping Centre
Senderwood taxi rank ablutions vandalised with broken taps and sewage flowing, while metro stalls to fix.

Despite months of reporting the water leak and sewage flow at the Senderwood Taxi Rank ablutions, no action has been taken.
As a result, major waste and water from the rank next to the Senderwood Shopping Centre has been flowing through the centre’s parking lot and behind the businesses.
When Bedfordview and Edenvale News visited the premises in early February Jules Michaelides, the co-managing landlord explained that although the matter had persisted for over a year, it had gotten worse in the previous months.

He recently told the NEWS that the sewage leak continues to run into the business’s parking area and that the ablution taps can’t be turned off.
Adding to Michaelides’s sentiments was ward councillor Jill Humphreys, who stated that the facilities are a stinking mess with unfixable plumbing.
She suggested that the ablution facility be decommissioned and shut down.
She said the facility is constantly being vandalised and that the people it is intended to serve are not benefitting from it in its current state.
City of Ekurhuleni’s spokesperson Zweli Dlamini said, “The city’s Real Estate Department is dealing with the matter and it will be resolved before the end of this week.”
