Seniors gather for lunch and laughter at Edenvale community centre
A warm meal, raffle prizes, and good company made the recent senior lunch a success. Organised by the Edenvale Senior Citizens Society, the monthly event is open to all and features various social activities.
Eighty senior community members recently attended a special lunch to celebrate Father’s Day.
The lunch, hosted by the Edenvale Senior Citizens Society (ESCS), was held at the Edenvale Community Centre on June 18.
According to committee member Linda Ranwell, the lunch was enjoyed by all and attendees had a great time.
There was a three-course meal and a raffle with lovely prizes.

Linda explained that these lunches are held once a month and are open to anyone.
“You do not need to be a member of the society to attend. However, there are lots of benefits to becoming a member, so I encourage people to join,” said Linda.
The annual fee is only R175. This allows you to participate in ESCS’ activities at the community centre.
Darts is popular, as well as the Monday knitting group, table tennis, and yoga classes, and of course the society’s second-hand shop is open every weekday morning.
