Edenvale CPF named first runner-up at SAPS Ekurhuleni Excellence Awards

Edenvale CPF was recently selected and awarded as the first runner-up in the CPF of the year category at the SAPS Ekurhuleni Excellence Awards.

The awards, which took place on October 31, celebrated excellence, dedication, and partnership in policing across the Ekurhuleni District for the 2024/2025 operational year.

The prestigious annual event recognises outstanding performance by SAPS members, CPFs, and safety partners who have gone above and beyond in service to their communities.

According to ECPF’s executive public relations officer, Fiona Pickett, Edenvale CPF was honoured to receive the award.

She said it acknowledges the CPF’s unwavering commitment, visibility, and innovation in community safety and crime prevention.

Pickett highlighted that it recognises and reflects Edenvale CPF’s consistent collaboration with Edenvale SAPS, private security stakeholders, and various community stakeholders who all work together to strengthen local safety initiatives and intelligence sharing.

A special congratulations was extended to Brackendowns CPF, who were named the overall CPF of the year recipient for 2024–2025.

The Edenvale CPF chairperson, Sheryl Damerell, and Edenvale’s station commander, Colonel Ntombomzi Edith Basholo, expressed their appreciation for the recognition.

“We are proud to stand among such committed community safety structures.

“This award is a reflection of teamwork between our volunteers, SAPS, and partners, all working together to create a safer Edenvale,” the pair stated.

The SAPS Ekurhuleni Excellence Awards showcased the power of collaboration between police and communities in building trust, promoting visibility, and advancing the shared goal of a safer South Africa.
