Quondam Village residents appreciate additional healthcare professional

Residents at Quondam Village warmly welcome a new healthcare professional for her advice, compassionate care, and a listening ear.

Quondam Village recently made significant improvements to its nursing care services.

This change was largely due to the addition of a new team member, Sister Thelisile Khanyile-Gcwabaza, who joined the village on May 4.

Quondam Village Trust manager Neeri Stroebel said Thelisile, affectionately known as Sr Theli, brings with her a wealth of experience in aged care.

She added that Thelisile has a comprehensive understanding of hospital operations and patient care, which she has now adapted to fit the needs of a residential village setting.

She has also honed her skills as a phlebotomist, a specialised healthcare professional who safely draws blood from patients.

“This experience has enhanced her attention to detail and patient interaction,” said Stroebel.

Her previous role as a wellness clinic manager, according to Stroebel, has equipped her with strong leadership abilities and a focus on promoting overall health and well-being.

Additionally, she said Thelisile’s background as a professional and village nurse gives her a profound understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by the elderly in a community setting.

“Sr Theli’s passion for working in the elderly sector is evident in her dedication and commitment. She is known for providing not only medical care but also emotional support to residents. Her advice, compassionate care, and a listening ear have been warmly welcomed by all who reside at Quondam Village,” commended Stroebel.

The manager further said residents have expressed their appreciation for Thelisile’s presence, noting that her approachability and empathy have made a significant impact on their lives.
