Edenglen Cycling Club hosts a fundraiser

“Your generosity helped us to remember all our people affected by cancer.”

Cyclists from far and wide came together for a good cause when they painted the roads pink while participating in a cycling fundraiser.

Hosted by Edenglen Cycling Club (EGCC) and Old Mutual the 2024 Paint the Craddle Pink was held on October 6 at the Cradle for Humankind.

The cyclists wear pink as the go the distance.

The event was held to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa.

The second year this event was held; cyclists and donors collectively raised over R110 000, exceeding the cycling club’s goal of R100 000.

Starting as an idea between two friends, concerned about a family member who had suddenly contracted cancer, the event has grown and gained support.

EGCC chairperson Ian Pye thanked, cyclists, athletes, and sponsors for their support and attendance at the event.

“Your generosity helped us to remember all our people affected by cancer.

Cyclists help raise over R110 000 by participating in the 2024 Paint the Cradle Pink cycling fundraiser for CANSA.

“Through the funds raised we can offer the incredible organisation CANSA a helping hand with the funds to offer support as well as early detection to avoid becoming another statistic of this horrible disease,” said Pye.

“We truly are heart warmed and appreciative of all your support, and hope that you will continue to support us in the years to come, as the battle will never be over,” he added.
