She said the name reflects both the physical and emotional spirit of the event.
‘Rebound’ comes from the rebounding (mini-trampoline) workout, while ‘hope’ symbolises our support for those affected by cancer. it encourages strength, recovery, and resilience.
“They call it a marathon because participants take part in multiple back-to-back rebound sessions, celebrating endurance and community energy rather than distance.

“Our goal is to raise awareness and funds for Cansa while promoting the benefits of exercise, positivity, and connection.
“We also aim to inspire a sense of collective hope — showing that movement can be a powerful act of support and healing,” said Bekker.
She thanked everyone involved for their generosity, as this helped them exceed their expectations for donations for Cansa.
“A huge thank-you goes out to our sponsors, Omoda for the beautiful T-shirts, Elegen for the water bottles, Cansa for the pink towels, Corne for the pink honey gifts, and of course our amazing instructors from Toka Bounce, Carmen, Carisa, Miekie; as well as Lea, Tristan and Heike from Beat Boutique.”
