What is the 100?
It’s a 100km cycle race for both leisure and professional riders 15 years and older, starting and ending at Germiston Lake in the City of Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Province.
Why should I enter the 100?
• If you’re a professional cyclist, you can earn UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) points, stand a chance to win fantastic cash prizes and race a route that has been spec’d by Cycling South Africa.
• If you’re an amateur cyclist, you stand a chance to win your share of prizes to the value of R100 000 and to train on a route spec’d by Cycling South Africa during a time of year that was, prior to the advent of the 100, empty of cycle races.
• If you’re a leisure cyclist you get to ride an awesome route and enjoy a day of family fun in the sun after the race.
Who can enter the 100?
Anyone 15 years and older.
How can I enter the 100?
Simply go to 100cyclechallenge.co.za, click on the Enter the Race tab and follow the prompts.
What does entry cost?
• Early bird entries are open from August 21 to October 31 at a cost of R350. Your early bird entry automatically qualifies you for the lucky draw that will make one participant the winner of R100 000 cash.
• Normal entries are open from November 1 to March 31, 2018 for R400.
• Late entry will open from April 1 to April 15, 2018 at a cost of R500.
• Last minute entry will cost R800.
Will I still be able to enter if I miss the March 2018 deadline?
Yes.
• Late entry is R500 and still available at www.100cyclechallenge.co.za.
• Last minute entry is R800 and only available at race pack collection on Thursday, May 3, 2018; Friday, May 4, and Saturday, May 5, 2018 at a venue still to be confirmed.
Do I have to have a licence to cycle the 100?
If you are not a registered member of Cycling South Africa you are required to purchase a day licence at an additional cost of R35.

Do I have to have a timing chip?
It is not compulsory to have a timing chip. However, if you want race results you will need to have one.
Is there any charity supported by the 100?
Yes. Race The Future is Cycling South Africa’s national development plan aimed at getting as many previously disadvantaged individuals and communities on bikes and participating in the sport of cycling. R50 per entry purchased will go towards funding Race The Future.
Can I select the charity that I want to support?
No. Race The Future is the 100’s official beneficiary R50 per entry will go towards funding cycling academies across South Africa.
Year one will focus on development in the City of Ekurhuleni, Gauteng Province. Roll-out to other areas and provinces will continue from year two.

The 100 Cycle Challenge is a wholly-owned property of Zen|One Productions (Pty) Ltd. Current cycle race partners are:

• City of Ekurhuleni – host city.
• Cycling South Africa – technical partner.
New sponsors and partners will be announced as they come onboard.
I don’t cycle but would like to watch my partner/spouse/child/friend, can I attend?
Yes. The 100 is a family fun day for everyone.
Entry is free if you do not participate in the race.
Live entertainment, food stalls, specially shaded areas, kiddies’ entertainment and much more will turn Germiston Lake into a festival of fun activities for everyone.
