Edenvale Karateka snags bronze in Algeria

Leira Ahmed of Edenvale Goju Kai Dojo excelled while representing South Africa at the UFAK Championships.
Held in Algeria, the championships took place between September 7 and 13.
In Algeria, Ahmed represented the South African National karate team, competing against top athletes from 30 countries.

Holding her own, Ahmed won a bronze medal at the championships.
According to the dojo’s management, Ahmed’s medal reflects the discipline and resilience she developed throughout her 10-year karate journey.
Following her success, Ahmed has been selected to represent South Africa in junior female kata at the 14th Karate World Championships in Poland.
