And there was a Garden of Lights

The spellbinding Garden of Lights, which illuminates the Palace of Dreams with a festive range of light displays annually, was turned on, on Thursday, December 4.

Eyes can feast on the display, hosted by Emperors Palace, in conjunction with Ekurhuleni, until January 4.

The family can take a stroll through the beautifully decorated garden of the five-star D’oreale Grande hotel, while little ones meet Santa, his helpers and other festive characters along the way.

Introduced in 2007, the mesmerising Garden of Lights has welcomed more than 800 000 visitors and boasts over 200 character light displays and 100s of km of lighting,

Months of planning and a dedicated team are just some of the festive ingredients included to create this spectacular affair.

Even bigger and better, this year’s Garden of Lights also hosts Happyland, which offers a variety of fun rides.

This is the perfect opportunity to treat the family and to see, touch and experience the festive holidays.

The best of all is that entrance is free of charge (rides excluded).

The Garden of Lights is lit up from 7pm till 10pm, weather permitting.
