Wide range of clothing on display
The Benoryn Lions Branch Club held a fund-raiser for the second consecutive year at, Chickita’s, in Northmead, on November 5.
The fund-raiser took the form of a fashion show and the proceeds will go to the club, which will also receive a 10 per cent share of the clothes worn by Chickita’s models.
Owner of the store Jenny Dharmavir had seven models, and several clothing ranges were displayed as the models made their way down the red carpet.
The clothing included holiday, casual, corporate, formal day wear, semi-formal, formal cocktail wear, evening semi-formal and black-tie.
A raffle was also held.
“We will not know how much was raised, as we still need to see how many clothes Chickita’s sells,” said Lions member Margaret Hanvey.
“The decision on what the money will be used for will only be made in June 2017, but we hope to raise about R10 000.”
