Indoor centre to host women’s basketball

The Ekurhuleni Basketball Association (EBA), on behalf of the Gauteng Basketball Association (GBA) and in partnership with Basketball South Africa (BSA) and the City of Ekurhuleni, will host the Ekurhuleni Women’s Basketball Tournament.
The event, which takes place from August 9 to 11, aims to promote and showcase the talent, role and athletic abilities that women possess in the sport of basketball, at both junior and senior level, in and around Gauteng.
The venue will be the Brakpan Indoor Centre and practise will take place daily, from 8am to 8pm, for seniors and juniors (18 years old and younger).
The winning team will receive a prize of R15 000.

According to EBA chairperson Nhlanhla Zikalala, this event will showcase the best of women’s basketball that is available in the country and in Africa.
“It is guaranteed that the quality of basketball will be of the highest standard,” she said.
