Exchange student helps to feed bookworms

The Benoni Aurora Rotary Club’s youth services chairwoman for this year, Claire Wilson, recently arranged with the Rotary Anns to take Robert Edelmann, Aurora’s short term exchange student, who comes from Germany, to see their library project at Tsakane Primary School.

The Rotary Club donated a container and books to Tsakane Primary School in 2011 and converted it to a library, as part of their on-going project to establish libraries in places of need.

Chris Madonsella, headmaster of Tsakane, said that the library would be the foundation of early reading, which would not only improve education at his school, but would also contribute to the community of Tsakane.

During Edelmann’s visit, he lent a helping hand at Tsakane Primary School with the preparation of their lunch.

With the help of Edelmann and many others, lunch was served and hungry stomachs were fed.
