Northmead Pick n Pay undergoes a revamp
With phase one of the refurbishments at the Northmead Mall completed, Pick n Pay Northmead Mall saw the need to also renovate their supermarket.
The Rangousis family, Jimmy, Glenda, Catherine and Antoni, have owned Pick n Pay Northmead Mall for the past seven years.
The family has, however, been part of various Pick n Pays for approximately 18 years.
“Our service makes us different from the rest; we have a personal relationship with most of our customers and our well trained staff members know to always serve customers with a smile,” said Jimmy Rangousis.
The well-stocked store currently has a bakery, butchery, clothing department and a liquor store located opposite the main supermarket.
It now has wider aisles and electronic shelf edge labelling, which helps eliminate pricing confusion.
A new queuing system, which was recently introduced, ensures that no matter how long the queue is customers don’t wait in line for more than three minutes.
“The smell of freshly baked specialty breads and cakes is the first thing our customers are confronted with when walking into the store,” said Jimmy.
On Friday August 30 the store added a Tres Riches Moist Slab Cake, which is more of a pudding than a cake, to its long list of freshly baked cakes.
“Our liquor store has over 1 000 different alcohol brands, and at the butchery section we make it easy for our customers to identify all the bulk special, we packaged in a bulk blue box,” added Jimmy.
According to Jimmy the clothing department has a wide range of quality shoes and clothes for all ages.
Northmead Square is one of the oldest shopping centres in Benoni and it has a large secure parking area on the upper level of the centre.
