The man is suspected of breaking into a house and robbing and raping a Barcelona woman on Friday, September 13.
“He fled the scene after the incident,” alleged police spokesman const Timothy Masilela.
Police then launched a manhunt until the suspect was arrested on Saturday, at his house in Barcelona.
It alleged the suspect gained access to the house by breaking the back window.
The victim was alone at the time of incident and was overpowered by the intruder.
The man fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and the victim’s cellphone, which was found in his possession during his arrest.
He is due to appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court soon.
