Glynnwood gives back
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Life The Glynnwood is passionate about the health and wellbeing of their female patients and staff.
One in every 30 women is diagnosed with breast cancer. This is a very daunting statistic, but with self-examination and regular mammograms early detection can make the difference between life and death.
Life The Glynnwood wanted to give back to the community and assist women who cannot afford to do regular mammogram testing.
Three of the cleaners working at the hospital were each nominated and sponsored for a mammogram.
“Life The Glynnwood would like to make a difference in the lives of people who help us every day to ensure our hospital is spotless for our patients and, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we could not think of a better way to thank these ladies than ensuring they are breast healthy,” said services manager Susan Swartz.
“The health and well-being of the people surrounding us is very important, and we are thankful that we could offer them peace of mind.”
