St Dunstan’s pupil crowned

St Dunstan’s Preparatory School pupil and Kempton Park resident Doné Grove (12) was recently crowned Junior Miss Million Dollar 2013, in a glamour competition that was held at Emperors Palace.

She competed in the nine to 12-year-old category, against 34 other contestants.

“I am very happy I won in my category, and I thank God for giving me the talent and the privilege to be able to do the things that I love,” said Doné.

According to her mother, Jacomi Grove, the easiest part of the entire competition for Doné was walking on stage, because it comes naturally to her, and the most difficult part was standing on stage, as part of top 10, when they were busy with the crowning.

Doné’s short term goal is to get a modelling contract with any famous fashion house overseas.

This year, she has won two other big titles, Miss Snow Queen and Miss Teen South Africa.

She looks up to renowned South African model Candice Swanepoel.

Doné is a Jill of all Trades; she is an aspiring athlete and represented Gauteng at the

Schools South African Championships, and has won numerous awards during a recent Eisteddfod.

Apart from her modelling career, she would like to study towards an engineering or architecture qualification.

“I would also like to thank my teacher Valerie Begbie, from Vogue Models, and the organisers of Junior Miss Million Dollar for everything,” she concluded.
