Three arrested for housebreaking

Three men were arrested for housebreaking, in Farrarmere, on Saturday, November 16.

The men, who are aged between 24 and 42, broke into a house and made away with electrical appliances.

“The robbers fled the scene on foot toward their getaway vehicle, parked close by at a street corner, and managed to place the stolen items inside the vehicle,” said Benoni SAPS media liaison officer Lieut Nomsa Sekele.

“Police members on routine patrols in the area noticed the vehicle, ordered the men to get out and searched them and the vehicle.

“During their search the complainant’s security company arrived and informed the police that the men were suspects in a burglary a couple of blocks down the street.”

The stolen items were recovered and police discovered that one of the men was wanted in connection with a burglary, committed in June.

The suspects, who are foreigners, were due to appear in the Benoni Magistrates Court on November 27, for bail applications.
