Flat screen stolen from Absa

Absa Bank, on the corner of Cranbourne Avenue and Tom Jones Street, was broken into at about 4am on December 13.

“From the video footage we have, three suspects wearing balaclavas are seen in a Corsa bakkie,” said Benoni SAPS acting station commander Col Joseph Ledwaba.

“One suspect broke the glass that leads into the bank and took a flat screen, before fleeing the scene.”

He added that the suspect could have fled the scene because of the pepper spray that was released into the bank when they broke in, or because he had injured himself on the glass.

“The blood that was found on the scene has been sent for DNA testing,” concluded Ledwaba.

“No money was taken during the robbery.

“The suspects are unknown and the SAPS are still investigating the matter.”
