Murder victim was friends with accused

The sister of murder victim Evelyn Nyamasoka (38), said her sister was friends with the men accused of murdering her.

Speaking outside the Benoni Magistrates Court, on January 30, Juliana Nyamasoka said that the men used to call her sister every time she went to Thokoza, to ask whether she had arrived safely.

The two suspects, aged 29 and 45, are accused of murdering their co-worker and burying her body on a plot in Fairleads.

The men are facing charges of conspiracy to commit robbery, robbery with aggravating circumstances, murder and defeating the ends of justice.

They appeared in the Benoni Magistrates Court on January 30 and the case was postponed to today (Thursday), as they had to apply for legal aid.

Nyamasoka’s body will be transported to Zimbabwe, where she will be buried.
