Enjoy cool vibes at Tilt

Imagine kicking off your shoes and enjoying the view of the sunset over Northvilla's horizon, with an ice cold drink in the hand.

My colleague and I recently visited the brand new rooftop beach bar, Tilt, where we enjoyed exactly this experience, with our friends.

Owned by Dave and Sharon Paulsen, the lounge is the first of its kind in Benoni, being situated on a rooftop in the Northvilla Terrace, on the corner of Celia Nestadt Road and Stokroos Street, in Northvilla.

It pulls off the ultimate beach vibe to the tee, with its outside lounge area, conjoined with a sea-sandy shaded area.

There are even a few bed-like seats on which, Dave explained, about eight people can relax, while enjoying something to drink.

Kevin had Tilt’s mega chicken burger, served with chips.

Dean ordered a Tilt prego roll, served with burger relish and crisps.

Dave said the lounge offers snack-type foods, as well as buffets and platters for functions.

Sushi-lovers can get excited, as sushi will soon be introduced to the menu.

The lounge also boasts young, gorgeous waitresses, dressed in beach-party skirts, enhancing the island feel.

“We are also open for events and special functions,” added Dave.

He told the City Times he was inspired by the Cape and international rooftop bars to initiate Tilt.

He wants to provide an environment in which people can come to talk and laugh together in a lively and fun atmosphere, right here in Benoni.

“It is not a disco or a night club,” he said.

The atmosphere is kept light and fun with feel-good music on the soundtrack.

Some nights the lounge features a DJ and, occasionally, live entertainment is arranged.

Making sure that everyone has a good time, is the management team, comprising Brandon Newman, Bianca Paulsen and Adrienne Kelly.

The operating hours are from midday until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 2pm to 9pm on Sundays.

The lounge is age restricted — only women over the age of 21 and men over the age of 23 are allowed in the bar. kvdltb
