New meter readers in Ekurhuleni

New water and electricity meter reading companies have been appointed in Ekurhuleni.

Four companies have been commissioned to conduct readings in Benoni from March 3 to June 30, 2016.

These are Ralai’s Investments CC; Baatshuma Electrical (Pty) Ltd; Matjabeng Cleaning, and Refuse Removal CC.

Ekurhuleni urged residents to cooperate with the companies’ representatives by granting them access to their properties. ”For security reasons, however, residents are advised to always request proof of identification before granting people access to their property,” said Ekurhuleni media relations divisional head Mandlakazi Mpahlwa-Sigcawu.

”As a form of identification, the meter readers will be carrying identity cards bearing the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality logo, and telephone numbers that can be contacted for confirmation.

”They will also be wearing contractors’ branded T-shirts.”

The contractors’ operating hours will be from 8am till 5pm on weekdays.

Mpahlwa-Sigcawu said the contractors may work overtime, including weekends.

In such instances, arrangements must be made with clients.

People who prefer phoning through their meter readings may continue doing so.
