Community Police Forum (CPF) members spotted the Nissan 1400 bakkie on the corner of Jarrah and Eva roads.
”It was also noticed that the vehicle had different number plates, compared to the licence disk,” said Crystal Park SAPS media liaison officer Tryna Maritz.
”The Crystal Park SAPS went to the address, and it was discovered that the vehicle had indeed been reported stolen in Kempton Park, in December 2011.’’
The vehicle was impounded and finger prints were lifted from it.
Arrests are expected soon.
Crystal Park SAPS station commander Lieut Col Belinda Motaung, said it is proven that when the community and the SAPS work together, crime can be prevented.
She thanked the CPF for their alertness.
