Wattville residents flock to free course

The Wattville community responded with enthusiasm to the Paradigm Shift course, a free entrepreneurial training course, sponsored by Sinomsebenzi.

The business-training course was introduced to the community on Monday, May 12, and will continue for 18 weeks.

It is being attended by 38 potential entrepreneurs, thanks to the passion of Pastor Allan Mnene, of the Be Blessed Church, who attended a Paradigm Shift course run in Benoni.

His determination to see positive change in his community led him to approach Sinomsebenzi to facilitate the course in Wattville.

“I attended the Paradigm Shift course run at the Whitehouse and saw it as a wonderful opportunity for my community in Wattville,” Mnene said.

He said there are a lot of business opportunities available, but that people do not have the skills to sustain them.

“With Paradigm Shift they will get the skills the support they need,” he added.

“Once our businesses are running properly there are endless opportunities.”

The Paradigm Shift results have been positive so far, with recent graduates seeing an increase in business revenue of 137 per cent, and an increase in savings from 20 per cent of students to 100 per cent, by the end of the course.

Sinomsebenzi managing director, John Carhart, said they have high hopes for the results of the Paradigm Shift Course in Wattville.

“It is so exciting to tap into the potential in our community, and we look forward to seeing positive change,” he added.

Sinomsebenzi is a Benoni-based organisation that works with business, for economic and community healing, in Ekurhuleni.

Sinomsebenzi is currently supporting five community-based NGOs.
