The Northfield Methodist Church is running a beanie and blanket drive.
Some of the donated beanies were distributed by members of the church to the Grade R classes at the John Wesley Community Centre, in Daveyton, and to Norah’s Educare Centre, in Putfontein, on June 11.
John Wesley has 40 pupils in the Grade R class and Norah’s has 55 pupils.
The church has distributed around 400 beanies and 100 knitted blankets, and about 150 fleece blankets have been donated.
